Lewis J. "Louie" Gallis, 79, of Zanesville, Ohio died at 3 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital .
He was born on Feb. 23, 1928, in White Cottage, Ohio (Muskingum County) the son of the late John and Mary Oakes Gallis.
He worked in the oil fields for 15 years for J.M. Sprout Co. He also worked as a master electrician for Hanna Coal Co. and Peabody Coal Co., where he retired in 1993.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He also enjoyed farming, raising cattle, loved nature and spending time with friends enjoying good conversation.
He is survived by four sons; Louis J. (Tami) Gallis II of South Zanesville, Ohio, Steven Gallis of Sorrento, Florida, John (Janet) Gallis of Gratiot, Ohio and Joseph (Gloria) Gallis of Zanesville; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret Nykile of Zanesville, Hazel Jones of White Cottage, Ohio, Virginia Beaver of Berlin, Md. and Shirley Mason of Sugar Creek, OH; one brother, Elmer Gallis of White Cottage, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and Albert Gallis, and five sisters, Frances, Stella, and Elizabeth Gallis, Florence Hamilton, and Anna Gray.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at William Thompson and Son Funeral Home, 5765 Gladstone Drive, White Cottage.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Wesley Union Cemetery.(Muskingum County, Ohio

Carolyn Sue Stemm, 76 of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Cambridge Place Assisted Living, Cambridge, Ohio on December 2, 2020
Carolyn was born in Zanesville, OH (Muskingum County) on November 21, 1944.
She is the daughter of the late Albert W. and Anna V. (Doty) Stemm.
She was a 30 year member of the Tree of Life Church in Zanesville. She enjoyed traveling, music, theatre
Carolyn is survived by her son, Chad A. (Shelley) Stemm of Zanesville; her grandchildren, Caeleb Giovani, Gabriel Michael, David Israel, Elijah Ellington, Zion Matthew-Dmitri and Victoria Rose; her sister, Pamela (Dirk) Fulks; her niece, Missy (Joe) Osborn; nephew, Andy Fulks; and her great nephews, Austin and Logan Osborn.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her life partner, Ronald 'Butch' Anderson and her sister, Col. Patricia Ann Stemm.

Samuel F. Gianettino
Samuel "Sam" F. Gianettino, 78 of Zanesville, died December 5, 2020, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born Friday, August 7, 1942, in Sardis, West Virginia, the son of Samuel Gianettino and Rosie (Hughes) Gianettino.
He married Theresa (Basehart) Gianettino on Saturday, August 3, 1968, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
Sam served in the United States Air Force, from 1961 through 1965.
Sam retired from Ohio University Zanesville following many years of service.
In addition to his wife Theresa, he is survived by three sons: Sam (Angie) Gianettino and Alex Gianettino both of Zanesville, and Bill (Tracie) Gianettino of Philo; six grandchildren: Jaden and Kaylynn Gianettino, Matt, Rose and Lexi Gianettino, and Zak Gianettino.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by nine half brothers and sisters.

Jacquelyn C. Kaffenberger, 88, of Somerset, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at her residence.
Jackie was born May 28, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Frank and Margaret Campbell. She was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and a member of Hopewell Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce (Debbie) Trowbridge of Somerset and Kirk (Tracy) Trowbridge of Thornville, OH; a daughter, Meg (Chris) Acosta of Waxhaw, NC; two grandsons, Morgan (Kelsey) Hall of Charlotte, NC and Reece Trowbridge of Thornville; three granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, K. Leland Kaffenberger, whom she married June 9, 1973, and who passed away March 9, 1996.

Ralph Theodore Woltz, 94 of Lancaster, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Pickering House.
Ralph was born on April 9, 1926 in Haydenville, Ohio (Hocking County) to the late Samuel and Lucy M. (Kost) Woltz.
Ralph served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the VFW, AMVETS #1985, Eagles #2120, Moose Lodge #955, and the American Legion Post 11.
Ralph is survived by his children, Terry Woltz and Larry (Connie) Woltz; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members.

Thomas Lee Woltz
Thomas Lee Woltz, 76, of Lancaster, Ohio died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was born January 25, 1944 in Lancaster, Ohio the son of H. Henry and Mary (Clark) Woltz.
Tom was a graduate of Lancaster High School and Ohio University where he received his degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a member and past president of the Lancaster Jaycees.
Tom is survived by his wife, Christy Lynn (Heft) Woltz, whom he married August 5, 2005; children, Brad (Teri) Woltz, Kevin Woltz and Jennifer Woltz; step-children, Erin and Lonny Heft; grandchildren, Alex, Olivia, Adam, Samantha, Landis and Elli; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Woltz; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Haley; brother, Henry "Bud"' and sisters, May and Betty.

Rosamary Hinson, age 81 of Cambridge, Ohio passed on December 9, 2020 at the Cardinal House in Cambridge.
She was born on July 31, 1939 in Bluefield, W.V., to the late Jesse W. and Lottice W. (Byrd) Caudill.
She is also preceded in death by her 1st husband John Johnson Sr. in 1987, and 2nd husband Aubrey Hinson in 2003, and a son Earl McGainey, and several brothers and sisters.
She worked at the State Hospital as a Therapeutic Program Worker, she loved working with people, dancing, playing music, and scrabble

Marvin Douglas Thomas, 67, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Genesis HealthCare System, Zanesville at 2:33 P.M. on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
Doug was born on April 17, 1953 in Zanesville, OH to the late Dale & Juanita (Wood) Thomas.
He was a graduate of Zanesville High School Class of 1971
He was a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company and a carpenter, working for several local construction companies over the years. Doug loved going to the beach, drinking extra sweet tea and The History Channel, mushroom hunting, listening to music from Jimmy Buffett and The Beatles and having cookouts with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Connie S. Thomas, whom he married on January 7, 2001; daughter Chastity (Rob) Graham; son Doug (Jessica) Thomas; stepson Royce Coates; stepdaughter Stacey Coates; four grandchildren, Blake Batteiger, Jacob (Ashley Mayle) Batteiger, Lucas Graham and Stella Thomas; three great grandchildren, Gunner, Lillyan and Bennett Batteiger; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy (Don) Adams, Judy (John) Bates; nieces Lisa (Troy) Mumford, Shelly (Pat) Cooper, Connie (Kenny) Dickey and Chris (Matt) Vermilion; several cousins.

Leona Mae Craiglow Thompson
Leona Mae Thompson, 87, of Newark, Ohio, (Licking County) died on December 15, 2020.
She was born in Lancaster, Ohio (Fairfield County), on July 31, 1933, to the late Max R. and Alice (Byrne) Craiglow.
Leona was kind, compassionate, generous, and selfless. Throughout the years, she served in school PTAs, room mother roles, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She will always be remembered for her big incredibly beautiful smile.
She is survived by children, Karen (Howard) Cousino of Bayview, OH, Lana (Chris) Baumgartner of Newark, Ohio, John Thompson II of Venice, FL, and Deena (Jim Robinson) of Newark; four grandchildren, Lea (Travis) Lindner, Katie Thompson, Riley Robinson, and Trey Robinson; one great-grandchild, Scarlet Mae Lindner; sisters, Phyllis (Howard) Barnes, and Bonnie Clark, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Conni Kay (Dilts) Berkfield. 60, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital, Columbus, Ohio following complications of heart surgery.
She was born April 11, 1960, in Zanesville, Ohio, (Muskingum County) a daughter of the Glenna (Stotts) Dilts and the late Don Dilts.
She retired from Muskingum County Job and Family Services after thirty years of service.
She graduated from West Muskingum High School class of 1978, and was a member of North Terrace Church of Christ.
She loved the outdoors and working in her flower beds.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Eric Berkfield; her children, Luke and Alex; siblings, Joseph (Judy) Dilts and Karen (Andy) Grimm; and several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sayra; her twin sister, Chrisi Nordman; grandparents, Virgil and Eloise Dilts and Paul and Esther Stotts.
Per Conni's wishes, a cremation will take place with no calling hours or services will be held.

Stanley Lee Duvall
Stanley Lee Duvall, 85, of Nashport, Ohio passed at 4:15 AM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Genesis Hospital.
He was born on Monday, April 29, 1935 in Marietta, Ohio the son of the late Senior Wiley Duvall and Wilda Lucille Lauer Duvall.
Stanley was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of First Christian Church, VFW Post #11072 of Dresden, Masonic Lodge, Lafayette 79, Aladdin Temple of Columbus, Muskingum County Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, and Zavi Shrine Club. Stanley was a 1954 graduate of Marietta High School. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed farming and fishing. Stanley was never happier than when he was with his loving wife and their family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annabelle Rexroad Duvall; four children, Yvonne (Denny) McCarty, Celeste (Gary) Hawkins, Clyde (Doreen) Duvall, and Joy (Jamie) Kennedy; son-in-law Mike Parson; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Jill Ann Parson and Dayle Duvall; sister, Andrea Duvall.
A private funeral service will be held with a celebration of life at a later date.
Burial with military honors will be at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Decatur Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, 3214 OH-555 Little Hocking, Ohio.

Margaret L. Kreis, 79, of Adamsville, Ohio died Friday evening, December 18, 2020 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio
Born September 15, 1941 in Zanesville she was a daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Black) Elmore and was a graduate of Zanesville High School and Meredith Business College.
Margaret worked at Jones Funk & Payne Law office. She was a member of Fairview Community Christian Church
Margaret loved to watch Hallmark movies.
Surviving is her loving husband of 48 years, Weldon L. Kreis, whom she married June 17, 1972; two children, Michelle (Brian) Barr of New Concord, Ohio and Matthew (Lori) Kreis of Adamsville; seven step grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Joyce) Elmore; and a sister, Ilene Allen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Richard and Jim Elmore.

She was born May 18, 1946 in Chillicothe to the late David M. and Clarice M. Cottrill Waugh.
Survivors include her son, Gerald (Kim) Colley, Chillicothe; a grandchild, Krystal (James Byas) Haddox; three great-grandchildren, Jesse and Kody Oday, and Henry Byas; a sister, Clara Buchanan; and several half-brothers and sisters.

Arthur “Skip” Grindley Jr., 62 of Zanesville, Ohio (Muskingum County) passed away December 26, 2020 at Genesis Hospital.
He was born September 17, 1958 in Lynnfield MA, son of the late Arthur King Grindley Sr. and Bonita Roberts Stouder (Donald Stouder:D)
Art was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed with South East Ohio Area Transit - Z Bus for the past 20 years.
He was a member of the VFW, Teamsters Union, Local 637, Zanesville, Ohio and Buckeye Lake Eagles and also very active with the Sebring Historical Society and The Ohio Pottery Association.
He also enjoyed teaching others about Grindley Artware through his Facebook group.
Pottery was his passion, he enjoyed learning and sharing his knowledge with others.
He loved music, cowboy movies and most of all spending time with family and friends. He was larger than life and brought joy and laughter to everyone, never knowing a stranger. One of his great joys was playing Santa Claus each year, with his generous heart he would bring happiness to children and adults alike. He always looked for ways to lighten hardships for others donating or giving in any way he could.
He is survived by his loving wife and best-friend, Charlene Wilson Grindley; children, Andrew (Amy) Grindley, Adel (Lance) Raber, Autumn (Matt Palmer) Grindley, Airianne (Nick Versonnen) Grindley; siblings, Anthony K. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Edwards (Pam Edwards).

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday January 5, 2021 at the Chapel in Sebring Grandview Cemetery 20040 Harrisburg Westville Rd. Alliance, OH 44601, where burial will follow at the conclusion of the service.

Mark O. Dudgeon
Mark O. Dudgeon, 50 of Columbus, Ohio, a former Newark, Ohio resident, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his residence. He was born June 28, 1970 in Newark, Ohio (Licking County) to Sherman P. and Alma M. (Pettibone) Dudgeon, Sr.
Mark was a 1988 graduate of Newark High School. He began playing the trumpet in the high school band and continued his interest throughout his life. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting.
He is survived by his children, Madison O. Dudgeon, Wyatt H. Dudgeon; their mother, Paula Lynch all of Westerville, OH; brother, Sherman Dudgeon of Nashport, OH; nieces, Amanda Dudgeon, Jayla Adams; nephew, Gary (Lori) Garrabrant; several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Diane Wunder; niece, Kelli Mettler.
Private services will be held at a later date.
