John P. Latone Jr.

BOARDMAN, Ohio – John P. Latone Jr., 54, died early Sunday morning, Dec 30, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family after a one year courageous battle with lung cancer.

John was born Feb. 20, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) the son of John P. and Jean Berardinelli Latone.

He was a 1976 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, where he played football.
He later played football at Washington & Jefferson College.

He worked as a life insurance agent and financial advisor with the Chase Agency in Boardman, Ohio for 20 years.

John was an avid sports fan. He had coached Little League and Pony League baseball for the Millcreek Baseball Association and later coached Class “B” baseball for Roth Bros.

He is survived by his wife, the former Kathy Donofrio, whom he married Nov. 14, 1981; his mother, Jean Latone of Austintown, OH; a daughter, Nicole (Michael) Crockett of Canfield, Ohio; his son, J.D. (Heather) Latone of Austintown; his pride and joy, his two grandchildren, Christian and Angelea Latone; sister Collette (Robert) Gorski; his niece and nephews; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Latone.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan 2, 2012 at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Christine Church

William J. Marcheskie

WARREN, OH – William J. Marcheskie, 82, entered peacefully into rest on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at 4 p.m., at his daughters residence following a lengthy illness.

William was born July 22, 1930, in Shamokin, Pa., the son of the late Martin F. and Mary E. (Berran) Marcheskie and was a resident of Newton Falls, Ohio and the Warren, Ohio area since 1957, moving here from Tamaqua, Pa.

He was a graduate of St. Edwards High School in Shamokin, Class of 1949, and was employed with the American Welding Corporation as a tool room attendant for 34 years, retiring from his duties in 1991.
He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newton Falls and later St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland.

William also had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

On Oct. 5, 1956, William was united into marriage with the former Dorothy A. (Sembach) Marcheskie and had shared 56 loving years together.

He leaves behind, his wife, Dorothy A. Marcheskie; son, Lee W. Marcheskie of Longwood, Fla.; daughter, Dr. Toni ( Richard Duke Harbison) Marcheskie of Cortland, Ohio; brother, Kenneth Marcheskie of Wilmington, Delaware; sister, Louise Marcheskie of Wilmington, Del.; and grandchildren, Michael, Mark and Rachel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl, Edward and Robert Marcheskie; and sister, Mary Hancock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland,

Visitation will be today, Jan. 1, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren, Ohio and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Officiating will be the Rev. Carl G. Kish.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road, NE, Warren, OH 44483.

CANFIELD, Ohio – William E. Pearce, 55,
passed away Monday evening, Dec. 24, 2012 at home with his family by his side.

William was born Feb. 22, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) the son of Harry Pearce and Mary (Popio) Pearce.

He was a 1975 graduate of Chaney High School and attended Youngstown State University.
William was a Youngstown City Police Officer from 1979 to 1981 and then worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Harris County in Houston, Texas from 1981 to 1988.
He also was the previous owner of Ianazone’s Pizza in Canfield, Ohio and worked as a network specialist for Phar-Mor and St. Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a member of St. Christine Church.

William was past president of the Mahoning Valley Corvette Association, founder of Northeast Ohio Imagers Group, president elect of the Mahoning Valley Astronomy Association, manager of Austintown fast pitch girls softball league, and also was a coach for girls recreational soccer for two years. He was currently working toward getting his certification in light wing aircraft.

William will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Elaine Hafner of Canfield, Ohio whom he married on March 24, 1979; two daughters, Tara (Travis) Hatmaker of Nashville, Tenn. and Megan Pearce of Canfield, OH; mother-in-law, Anna Hafner of Boardman; brothers-in-law, William (Shirley) Hafner of Hubbard and Michael Hafner of Boardman; sisters-in-law, Peggy (Chuck) Meadors of Poland, Ohio, Joan (Skip) Borders of Carrollton, Texas, and Susan (Mike) Terrill of Atlanta; numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, William J. Hafner; and sister-in-law, Patty Green.

There will be a memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave. in Youngstown, Ohio.

The Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home 4442 South Ave. in Boardman, Ohio have been bestowed the honor and privilege of handling the arrangements for William.

Graveside service for Evelyn Cesta Miller, 86, Cache will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Cache Cemetery, with John Webb, Cache Christian Church officiating.
Mrs. Miller died Friday in a Frederick hospital.
Burial will be in Cache Cemetery, Cache, OK, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
She was born March 25, 1925 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Bud and Ternie (Garrett) Thompson. She married Ivan G. White, and he passed away in August of 1974. She later married Bob Miller. He also preceded her in death. She operated many small businesses in and around the Cache area for many years. She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Carroll Jett and husband Sam, James White and wife Marla of Indiahoma, OK, Brenda McKeever of Elgin, OK, Linda of San Diego, CA, two brothers, Chester Thompson of Tulsa, OK, Lester Thompson and wife Joyce of Wister, OK, half-brother Charles Thompson of Texas, two half-sisters, Billie Hunt and husband Ed of Tulsa, OK, and Geraldine. She is also survived by grandchildren, Quinton Lyle Denney, Kassandra Gayle Fox, Lisa Edison, Reece Thomason, Robin Thomason, and great grandchildren, Quinton Griffin Denney, Soren Lyle Mack Denney, Devin Rene Amanda Fox, Darren James (DJ) Fox, Justin Edwards, Arreon Edison, Shelby Edison, Sophia Edison, Stacey Bitner, Justin Bitner, Mariah Bitner, Brittany Thomason, Garrett Thomason and Cody Thomason. She is also survived by a very special dear friend, Waylon Denney of Cache, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a sister-in-law Dorothy Thomason.

Mrs. Walker was born March 18, 1920 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to T.L. and Ida Francis (Lovett) Fleming. The family lived in the Beaty Community where her father was a farmer and rancher. She attended grade school at Beaty and was a 1936 graduate of Elmore City High School and was valedictorian of her class. That fall she attended Cameron Junior College and in 1938 graduated with an Associate in Business degree. She married James K. Walker on June 26, 1938 at Lawton. He died on December 17, 2003.

She was a retired federal employee and a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a teacher in the Adult II Esther Sunday School class. She taught Sunday school for more than 50 years.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Jimmie and Joan Walker, Sioux City, Iowa; three daughters and a son in law, Nancy and Andrew Bennett, Cleveland, Tennessee, Patti McIntyre and Cathy Newsom, both of Lawton; ten grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter.

Her parents, two sisters, four brothers, and a son in law, Floyd Newsom, preceded her in death.

The family will greet friends from 3-5 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral service for Joyce “Joy” Pannell, 95, Lawton, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Pannell died Monday, January 30 in Lawton.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
She was born May 4, 1916 in Cement, Oklahoma to Samuel and Edna (Widener) Moore. She graduated from Cedar Grove School near Fletcher and married Jimmie A. Pannell on February 26, 1935 in Lawton. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1994. They lived several years in California and Texas before moving to Oklahoma City where Jimmie, in 1943, enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. While Jimmie was serving overseas in China and the Philippines, in the Construction Battalion (Seabees), Joyce and daughters, Jimmie Lee and Delores, lived in Oklahoma City until his discharge in 1945.

After moving to Lawton in August of 1946 she helped her husband in his home building, cattle and ranching businesses. Following their retirement they moved to a farm East of Lawton and were only the second family to own the farm since it was won in the Oklahoma lottery. She enjoyed nature and loved the many trips in their travel trailer.

Joyce was an active member of Central Baptist Church and involved in various programs. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and entertaining friends and family. She was a serene, optimistic role model, a wonderful woman who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was truly an example of the greatest generation.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Delores and Bob Mansell, Lawton; three grandsons, Perry Mansell, Lawton, Steve Mansell, Oklahoma City and Robert Mansell, Los Angeles, California; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hepp, Austin, Texas; ten great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; two nieces, Karen Richmond, Grove, Oklahoma and Beverly Morris, Duncan; a nephew, Ray Yandell, Edmond, Oklahoma.

Her parents, a sister, Daisy Crocket, brothers, Noble, Homer and Johnny Moore, her husband, a daughter, Jimmie Lee Evilsizer, a granddaughter, Leslie Lynn Sidman, and a great grandson, Chad Bronson Mansell, preceded her in death.

Funeral service for ROBERT HAROLD JENKINS, 77, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Jenkins died Friday in Chickasha.
Burial with Military Honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
He was born January 12, 1935 in Lawton to Lorenzo Dow and Laura (Jarman) Jenkins. At eighteen he started working as a licensed helicopter mechanic in 1953 for Brantley Helicopters. He joined the Army in 1958 and was a paratrooper/helicopter mechanic. After his honorable discharge, he earned his helicopter pilot license and started his own helicopter repair business. In 1978 he opened H.J. Amusement. He enjoyed gaming and had an incredible appreciation for music.
Harold was instrumental in the aerial construction of the Sears Tower in Chicago. He participated in the largest air show in the world in Singapore. He was selected to fly because of his vast experience of over 6000 hours logged. He also flew helicopters in several other asian countries such as China and India. He married Sandra Jolly on September 2, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of the home; a daughter, Tammy Jo; six stepchildren, Frank Stroll, Brian Stroll, Debbie Wilson, Tammy Klein, Steve Baggett and Melissa Guin; numerous step grandchildren; great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, ten sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. South died Friday at the Veteran’s Center in Clinton.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Lawton under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
A.L. was born November 7, 1926 in Nocona, Texas to William Alvin and Itelia (Keck) South. He was a saddle bronc rider and gold card member of the PRCA. He began work as a ranch hand in the Texas panhandle at 13 years of age. He was drafted into the Army at the age of 18, and served for 18 months before receiving an honorable discharge. A.L. married Coradell Zimmerman on March 26, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They resided in Lawton until 1966, when he was transferred to Castle Rock, Colorado. A.L. drove a truck most of his life and retired from Yellow Freight Transit. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 886 in Oklahoma City. His greatest joy in life was his family.

He is survived by his wife , Coradell of the home; four daughters, Dannie Lynn and husband Harold Haynsworth and family, Sulphur Springs, Texas, Lisa and husband Bobby McAfee, Henryetta, Oklahoma, Linda South and husband Bear Caldwell, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, and Laurie and husband Lonnie Shafer, Weatherford, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Mike and wife Candy Hill, Meghan and husband Johnathan Davis, Rein Howard, Ryne and wife Lossie Shafer; three great grandchildren, Tucker Kelsey, Jaspur Davis and Bailen Davis; a sister, Juanita Nance, Lawton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Tonips died Wednesday, January 25, in a Lawton care center.
Burial with military honors was in the Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Otto was born September 1, 1946 in Lawton to Otto Lee and May (Wauqua) Tonips, Sr. He graduated from Cyril High School in June of 1966. He entered the USMC in February of 1968, and was honorably discharged in 1970. While serving in Vietnam, he earned the Combat Action Ribbon with V for Valor, the Purple Heart with one gold star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Vietnam Service Medal with star, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Expert Rifle Badge and the Expert Pistol Badge. After he got out of the Marines, he went to work as an Oklahoma University police officer for two years from 1971 until 1972, and then he went to work for the Lawton Police Department in 1973, retiring in 1990. He married Sallie Yvonne Nahno-Kerchee on October 14, 1977 in Lawton. He was a member of the Comanche Tribe, a Lifetime Member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Native American Church.

After he got out of the Marines, he went to work as an Oklahoma University police officer for two years from 1971 until 1972, and then he went to work for the Lawton Police Department in 1973, retiring in 1990. He married Sallie Yvonne Nahno-Kerchee on October 14, 1977 in Lawton. He was a member of the Comanche Tribe, a Lifetime Member of the VFW, the American Legion and the Native American Church.

Graveside service for Otto Lee Tonips, Jr., 65, Cyril, was at 10:00am Friday in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin with Edward Eschiti, Walters, OK officiating.
Mr. Tonips died Wednesday, January 25, in a Lawton care center.
Burial with military honors was in the Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Otto was born September 1, 1946 in Lawton to Otto Lee and May (Wauqua) Tonips, Sr. He graduated from Cyril High School in June of 1966. He entered the USMC in February of 1968, and was honorably discharged in 1970. While serving in Vietnam, he earned the Combat Action Ribbon with V for Valor, the Purple Heart with one gold star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Vietnam Service Medal with star, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with palm, the Navy Achievement Medal, the Expert Rifle Badge and the Expert Pistol Badge. Funeral service for Doyle Buttram, 87, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dean Thompson, Pastor, Brockland Free Will Baptist Church officiating.
Mr. Buttram passed away on Wednesday, January 25 in Lawton.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Doyle was born September 21, 1924 near Keota, OK to Watie & Rhoda Arnold Buttram and was the oldest of eight children. He married Mary Lou Brazeal in 1943. They moved to Lawton in 1946 and Doyle worked as a truck driver for Nash Finch Produce Company, and later for both Mead’s Fine Bread and Rainbo Bread before retiring after over 38 years as a bread salesman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou. In 1997, he married Audrey Woodall.

Doyle enjoyed watching high-school and college sports, and fishing with his family. In recent years he volunteered at Lawton Mobile Meals and served one year as a Delegate for the Board of Trustees. Doyle was member of Brockland Free Will Baptist Church and also attended services at Centenary Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and church families.

Doyle is survived by his wife, Audrey Buttram, of the home; a daughter Saundra Johnson and her husband Gale of Yukon OK, and a son Chuck Buttram and his wife Lynn of Argyle TX, a step-son Tim Woodall and his wife Sandy of Joplin MO, and step-daughter-in-law Susan Woodall of Lawton. Doyle is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two brothers and sisters in law, Loal and Madell Buttram and Loy and Nellie Buttram of Lawton, and three sisters Vivian Williamson and her husband Neil of Lawton, Martha Langford of Cache, and Reba Jo Denton of Milan TN. Doyle was also fortunate to have several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Cummins and a step-son, Rick Woodall both of Lawton; Doyle’s parents, and two brothers, Eddie and Kenneth Buttram.

Funeral service for Helen Marie Powell, 90, Lawton, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the First Assembly of God with Rev. Gary Pratt, Associate Pastor, and Rev. Don Barnes, Pastor officiating.
Mrs. Powell died Sunday at her residence.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Mrs. Powell was born April 3, 1921 in Kemp, Texas to Thomas Jasper and Emma Ellen (Elliott) Clark. She moved to the Lawton area as a girl and attended school east of Lawton at Ash Grove. She married Willard Cartee Powell on October 20, 1939 in Lawton. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1974.
Mrs. Powell had worked at the Lawton Stock Yards where she operated the café. She had also worked as a cook with the Lawton Public Schools at Eisenhower High School and retired from Fort Sill where she was employed with Non Appropriated Funds working in the Bachelor Officer’s Quarters. She attended the First Assembly of God.
She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Jeanie Hennessee and her husband John, Sr., Elgin, and Wanda Halterman and husband Greg, Lawton; a son, Dannie Powell, Garland, Texas; nine grandchildren, Vanessa Hernandez, William Powell, Earl Powell, Charles Powell, Paula Diehl, Dr. John Hennessee, Jr., Cynthia Marshall, James Knight and Lorie Sylvester; 25 Great Grandchildren and ten Great Great Grandchildren.
A son, Willard Douglas “Doug” Powell, three brothers and six sisters, preceded her in death.

Mr. Allen died Saturday, January 21, 2012 in Lawton.
He was born May 27, 1948 in Aurora, Illinois to Rhueben and Mary (Kizziah) Allen. He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1966. He married Carol Watson on December 17, 1965 in Lawton. Later in life he met his dear friend, Kim Canfield.
Survivors include his daughter, Johna S. Robinson and a son, Terry Lee Allen, Jr., both of Lawton, granddaughter, Skyler Robinson, Austin, Texas, brother, Rhueben A. Allen, Torrance, California, and a brother-in-law, Edward Drum, Carmel, Indiana. Mr. Allen is also survived by his dear friend, Kim Canfield, Broken Arrow and her daughter, Stephanie Canfield and granddaughters, Makalyn and Mya, three nieces, a great niece and three great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lou Drum.

Mr. Carreras died Wednesday, January 18 in Houston, Texas.
Burial with full military honors will be 9:00 a.m. Monday in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Mr. Carreras was born September 13, 1956 in New York, New York, to Hector and Arminda (Collazo) Carreras. He married Noemi Arroyo on February 11, 1978 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
He was retired from the U.S. Army on June 30, 1995 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He took great pride in his military service and his awards include the Soldier’s Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal 6th Award, National Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with number 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with number 3, expert Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16 and the German Marksmanship Badge. He was most proud of the Soldier’s Medal, which he received for a rescue involving a fire in Germany.
His desire to help people prompted his subsequent employment with Social Services at Fort Sill where he worked in the outreach area and his tenure with the Armed Forces Red Cross where from 1999 – 2008 he served as a senior case worker. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and was a church elder.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two children, Christopher Michael Carreras, Fort Meade, Maryland, and Cathy Carreras-Wells and her husband Chin, McKinney, Texas; two grandchildren, Clayton and Christian Wells; his parents, Hector and Arminda Carreras, San Juan, Puerto Rico; a sister, Ibira Cartagena and her husband William, Pembroke Pines, Florida; two brothers, Antonio Carreras and his wife Laura, Coconut Creek, Florida, and Carlos Carreras and his wife Mari, San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Marianne was born November 28, 1936 in Munich, Germany. She married Frank Albert Lounsberry on October 8, 1955 in Munich, Germany. He died July 26, 2000. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who lived a great life. She enjoyed cooking, her family and friends.
She is survived by her four children, Joan and Lenny Romano of Jacksonville, FL, Patricia and Mark Overholt of Saratoga Springs, NY, Frances Curtis of Mustang, OK, Eileen Burns of Struthers, OH, a sister, Anna, and two brothers, Ferdinand and Vernon all of Munich, Germany, eleven grandchildren, Christine, Vicky, Bobby, Joanie, Luis, Jose, Joseph, Frank, Shawn, Jason and Eric. Funeral service for Josephine Rossi Giannella, 91, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Father Joseph R. Ross officiating. The family will greet friends from 3-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Giannella died Tuesday in a Lawton hospital.
Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey. Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Mrs. Giannella was born on November 26, 1920 and emigrated from Castellabate di Santa Maria, Italy when she was 15 years old, where she was reunited with her father and other family members living in New Haven, Connecticut. In 1938 she married and Italian hometown acquaintance, Mario Giannella, also an immigrant nine years her senior, with whom she remained joined until Mario’s death in 1980. Mario and Josephine settled in Paterson, New Jersey where with his father and brother, he established the Giannella Baking Company, which flourished into a leading Italian bakery in Northern New Jersey and New York. Josephine was part and parcel of the business and contributed to its success while devoting herself to their three children. Mario and Josephine, with little command of the English language in the early years and little formal education, believed in and attained the “American Dream”. They understood and valued the education of their children; Raphael Giannella, a medical doctor, Theresa Giannella Baxter, a speech pathologist, and Mario Giannella, Jr., a physicist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratories.
Josephine was known for her strength of character, her innate intelligence, her love of family, and her delightful Italian accent. After her husband’s death Josephine single handedly managed her own “M. Giannella Delicatessen” in Westwood, New Jersey. She was an astute businesswoman in her own right, and became an involved and loving grandmother and great grandmother. In 2004, Mrs. Giannella relocated to Lawton, Oklahoma, to join her daughter.
Josephine is survived by her three children, Dr. Ralph Giannella and his wife Patricia of Cincinnati, Ohio, Theresa and her husband, MG (R) Lee Baxter of Lawton and son Mario, Jr. and his wife Lana of Knoxville, Tennessee. She also leaves two grandsons, Andrew Giannella of Cincinnati, Ohio and Christopher Giannella and his wife Erin of Baltimore, Maryland; two great grandsons Tillman and Matteo; two step grandchildren, Jason D. Baxter and his wife Deborah of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Kelly M. Baxter and her husband Michael Comiskey of Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Irene Rossi, Anna Rossi Fasano and Lydia Rossi Sansone; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her husband and a brother, John Rossi, preceded her in death.

Funeral Services for Darlene Ehmer, 79, of Lawton, will be held on Friday, January 20th, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donny Crittendon, Pastor of Paradise Valley Baptist Church, north of Lawton, officiating.

Darlene passed away on Monday January 16th in her home with her daughter and her granddaughters with love, peace and dignity.

Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

She was born at home in Lawton, Oklahoma to Lester and Bernice Stout on January 3rd 1933. She wed her first love Paul Fontenot on November 13th 1948. They had two children, Jerry and Darla. She worked as a telephone operator until the birth of her son Jerry in 1957. Her daughter Darla was born 3 years later. She fulfilled her dream as a stay at home mom who was completely devoted to her family. She was active in every endeavor her children participated, whether it included cub scouts, football, baseball, bluebirds or cheerleading.

On March 11th, 1979 she married James “Tiny” Ehmer. She went to work at Taliaferro in 1971 and retired in 1989. She loved her job and the many friends she met along the way. Her husband “Tiny” passed away in October of 1991.

Blessed for the third time with love in her lifetime, she met Mack Cox in the spring of 2000, who continued to be her dedicated and loving companion and by her side until her passing.

As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother she taught us the true meaning of unconditional love and unwavering compassion. She was our living angel here on earth and is now in heaven with our beloved Savior Jesus Christ and our family that has gone before us.

She is survived by her loving companion Mack Cox, Cache, OK; daughter Darla Sayre, Lawton, OK; granddaughter Nichole Fontenot, of the home; her granddaughter and grandson Casi and Gregory Walters and their children DebiAnn and Christian “Bubba”, Gray Court, SC; her granddaughter and grandson Brandi and Nathan Wedman and their children Noah and Connor, Lawton, OK; her beloved sister and brother in law Shirley and Jesse Graves, Lawton, OK and their daughter and her husband Connie and Gary Coleman; VA; her Aunt Wilma Stout….what a WOMAN!!!; her cousin Helen Chamberlain, OKC, OK with whom she had a clairvoyant bond that we could never explain, Bless you Hellie!; and Stacy Townsend who was her surrogate granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her beloved “Tiny” Ehmer, her baby boy Jerry and her one of a kind nephew Steven Rathsack, who she loved like her own.

We want to say, it is because of the seeds she planted of love, laughter, compassion and unconditional care is why we are who we are today. She may be gone but the impression she made in each of our lives will continue on for generations to come.
