Roberta E. Niswonger

NILES, Ohio – Roberta E. “Mitzi” Niswonger, 84, of Niles, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Manor at Autumn Hills in Niles.

She was born January 7, 1933, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Paul Reed and Irma (Meszaros) Reed.

Roberta graduated from Cleveland, Ohio John Hay High School. She was employed as an accountant at Packer & Thomas Company and then went on to work as a self-employed CPA, working until she was 80 years old.

She was a member of the Beth Yeshua Messianic Jewish Congregation and attended the Pleasant Valley Evangelical Church.

Roberta was very active with the Ohio Certified Public Accountant Society.

She spent many winters in Florida and enjoyed the ocean along with camping, fishing and traveling.Memories of Roberta will be carried on by her daughter, Darcy (Tony) Vega of Austintown, Ohio; son, Gregg Niswonger of Liberty, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael (Sherry) Vega, Michelle Vega, Charlie Ward, Tyler Breedlove, Chase Woodridge and Grace Vega and a sister, Becky Upshur of Show Low, Arizona.

Besides her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Niswonger, whom she married December 23, 1951; son, Reed Niswonger; two sisters, Ruth Craver and Rachel Muldoon and a brother, Ralph Reed.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 26 at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Crown Hill Burial Park.

The family requests that material contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512, in her memory.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017, at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. David Vincent Taltoan, 62, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Taltoan was born February 3, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Marvin A. and Anna Mae Curry Taltoan.

He was a 1974 graduate of East High School and a dedicated worker at Station Square Ristorante, where he had been employed for 16 years.

He was a former member of the New Birth Kimmelbrook Baptist Church.

He loved music, and especially was an avid fan of Aretha Franklin, movies and shopping. He especially loved his family.

He leaves to cherish his beloved memory, two brothers, Maurice (Gladys) Taltoan and Milton (Dawn) Taltoan, both of Youngstown; four sisters, Cecelia J. Taltoan of Youngstown, Marvette Pack of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, Carolyn Taltoan of Akron and Darlene Taltoan of Girard, OH and a host of nieces, nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Pierrie Taltoan and a nephew, Pierrie Taltoan, Jr.

Friends may call Friday, October 27 from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home prior to services.

Dr. Robert L. Clinkscale

Dr. Robert L. Clinkscale led a life of service.

Dr. Robert L. Clinkscale made transition from this life on July 19, 2016.
He was born Oct. 21, 1932 in Greenville, South Carolina to Mrs. Emma Luceil McCullough and Prince Albert Harrison.
During his high school years, Dr. Clinkscale was a star football player for Sterling High School. His athleticism and academic ability earned him a scholarship to Central State University, Wilberforce, Ohio.
Dr. Clinkscale was a beloved Centralian Marauder.
He was captain of the football team, an honor student and was an officer in ROTC and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
After receiving his B.A. in Education and Industrial Technology in 1955 from Central State University, Dr. Clinkscale earned the rank of Lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He served as Lieutenant Colonel in the Ohio National Guard as well.
Dr. Clinkscale went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Administration from John Carroll University and his Ph.D. in Education Administration, Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Akron. He possesses several post-graduate certificates (Urban Education, Vocational Education, Administration, etc.) from Kent State University and Michigan State University.
Dr. Clinkscale served as a teacher and administrator for the Cleveland Municipal School District for 18 years throughout the late fifties, sixties, seventies and early eighties.
His proudest accomplishment during that time was his role in the planning and construction of a $6.3-million vocational facility for East Cleveland Public Schools. Following his service to CMSD and East Cleveland Schools, Dr. Clinkscale served as Dean of Community Education, Apprenticeship and Skilled Training Programs at Cuyahoga Community College.
Dr. Clinkscale relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where he served in different capacities for the Maryland State Department of Education and Baltimore City Public Schools.
He was appointed by the Governor of Maryland to the Board of Directors for the Prisoners Aid Association on Maryland, Inc. During that time he served as board president. In 2005, he was awarded President Emeritus by the governor along with the renaming of the Prisoners Aid Association on Maryland, Inc. headquarters’ building as The Robert L. Clinkscale Building.
Throughout his career and retirement, he has secured millions of dollars in funding and resources to provide vocational education and training for urban schools, special needs populations, incarcerated and reentry people. He has an extensive record of professional consultation with various public and private sector organizations including the U.S. Office of Education, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Ohio Department of Education and the National Institute of Education to name a few.
Dr. Clinkscale accepted Christ at an early age at a church in South Carolina and was currently a member of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church where he was a greeter and a part of the prison ministry.
Dr. Clinkscale is a proud Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and a Prince Hall Mason.
Dr. Clinkscale leaves behind his wife, Margaret Heard Clinkscale, a stepson, Kevin D. (Janice) Heard, two grandchildren, Daniel and Jordan Heard and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dr. Clinkscale was preceeded in death by his mother Emma Luceil McCullough and sisters Helen Gilliam and Elizabeth Williams both from South Carolina.
Dr. Clinkscale’s Homegoing services will be held Saturday July 30, at E.F. Boyd and Son Funeral Home on 89th and Cedar.
Viewing will begin at noon. Alpha Phi Alpha ceremony at 12:30 and Homegoing service at 1p.m.

Jacqueline died peacefully at the age of 74.

Jackie was a loving daughter of the late Hattie C. and Jay T. Clinkscales.
Beloved sister of William "Skipper", and Jay. Devoted mother to Brittany Toliver.

Jackie was a 911 dispatcher for the San Francisco Police Department; a member and founder of San Francisco Matchmakers bowling Club. She will be remembered for ever.

Family and friends may visit after 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City, CA.

The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Bethel AME, 916 Laguna Street, San Francisco, CA 94115.

Gregory S. Carsonie

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Gregory S. “Greg” Carsonie, 98, entered eternal rest early Friday morning, Nov. 10, 2017.

Gregory will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his kindness and being a true gentleman.

He was born Aug. 16, 1919, in Youngstown, OH (Mahoning County) the son of Salvatore and Rose (Landophi) Carsonie and was a lifelong area resident.

Greg attended East High School and was a member of St. Christine Church. He was employed at Automatic Sprinklers for many years and then retired from the shipping department of Hi-Way Heating Systems in November of 1981.

Greg was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II and received an honorable discharge. During his lifetime, Greg was very accomplished and was extremely intelligent. He had enjoyed many things, including traveling, ballroom dancing, cooking, gardening, playing cards, bocce and morra, along with shopping at the mall looking for bargains.

Greg also was very devoted to his family and loved all the Italian traditions.

His wife, the former Kathleen Durkin, whom he married May 19, 1977, died Dec. 10, 2012.

He leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories, his numerous nieces and nephews, who loved and cared for him during his lifetime.

Besides his parents and wife, Greg was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary (Eugene) Rango, Peter Carsonie, Connie (Fred) Russo, Frank (Sara) Carsonie, Jenny (Andrew) Lordi, Frances (Ross) Rodino and Ralph (Dorothy) Carsonie.

Per Greg’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services held.

Burial took place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Boardman (new location).

John Michael Hanysh

BOARDMAN - John “Butch” Michael Hanysh, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio with his family by his side.

John was born Jan. 13, 1946, in Salem, Ohio to Dr. Myron and Gloria Hanysh.

John graduated from Austintown Fitch High, Austintown, Ohio in 1964 and pursued careers in the photography and printing industry. He began his professional career as a wedding photographer before his employment at City Printing in Youngstown, OH.
He then left for St. Croix, USVI, where he resided for nearly 25 years and started a successful printing company, Island Images.

John was a volunteer at the Society of the Blind, an avid aviation enthusiast and held a pilots license for many years. He was known for his generosity, love of fishing, cooking, and making people laugh. The room was never short on laughter when he was around.

John will be sadly missed by his son, John E. Hanysh; two daughters, Jamie Navarez and Michelle Gross; his sister, Ginger Brobender; brother Carl Hanysh and sister-in-law Janet; four grandchildren; and his roommate Brian.

John was about living life to the fullest, and instead of a funeral service, he wanted his family to gather and celebrate his life.

Robert A. Menichini

GIRARD - Robert A. Menichini, 84, formerly of Lowellville, Ohio died Saturday evening, Nov. 18, 2017, at Omni Manor Health Care Center.

Mr. Menichini was born May 23, 1933, in Lowellville, a son of Mauro and Concetta (Minetti) Menichini.

He was a graduate of Lowellville High School.

Mr. Menichini worked as a painter for V&D Painting, retiring after 26 years of service, and was a member of the Local Painter’s Union.

Bob was a talented artist and in his free time, he enjoyed doing sketches and paintings. He also had a passion for music, especially jazz, and played both the organ and trumpet.

While serving in the U.S. Army, Bob played the trumpet in the Army Band.

In his retirement years, he enjoyed meeting his friends out for coffee at several area restaurants.

His wife, the former Jill Cooper, preceded him in death in 1985.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Menichini of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two sons, Anthony (Reema) Menichini of Atlanta and Michael (Ira) Menichini of Dubai; sister Lillian Mangine of Lowellville, OH; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Paul Menichini; sisters, Mary Coppola and Ann Pinter; and grandson Ryan Smith.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4 to 5:45 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill St., Lowellville.
A funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home
Interment will be at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Stella J. Kiliman Pridon

SALEM – Stella J. Pridon, age 84, passed away at 2:27 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Stanley and Stefania (Miesz) Kiliman.

She graduated from Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn and worked in the Esso Building in Rockefeller Center. She enjoyed many summer outings to Coney Island and was very proud of her Polish heritage.

With a planned move to Florida, she stopped in Salem, staying with her brother and sister-in-law, Alexander and Anna Virginia Kiliman.
While there, she got a job at the former E. W. Bliss Co., where she met the love of her life, John Pridon. Their first date was March 19, 1955. They were married less than seven months later on Oct. 15, 1955, and remained a devoted couple for 58 years until John’s passing on June 22, 2014.

Stella was a 60+ year member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Fadely Guild and served as an usher.

She enjoyed all types of music, loved to draw, paint and crochet, and, following her husband’s passion for sports, became an ardent Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers fan. In addition to her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Alexander Kiliman.

She is survived by her two sons, John D. of Boardman, OH and Steve (Janice) Pridon of Bessemer, Pa.; grandchildren Jason (Brianna) Pridon of Canfield, Joshua Pridon of Columbus, Stephanie (Ross) Morrone of Canfield, Ohio and Mikael Pridon of New York; as well as great-grandchildren, Ava and Gracie Morrone, and Penelope and Blake Pridon; her nephew, Douglas (Marina Brown) Kiliman; and niece, Jean (Bill) Esposito.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.

There will be a memorial service held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, OH 44514.

Ann K. Sainato

POLAND, Ohio – Ann “Nancy” K. Sainato, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, with her daughter by her side.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sainato; her parents, John and Ann Dempsey; her first husband and lifelong friend, Jack Carney; and a beloved daughter Patricia Ann.

Nancy is survived by her children, John (Lisa) Carney and her twin daughters, Michelle (Max) Fitzer and Nancy (Jeff) Williams. She leaves grandchildren Julieann Carney, Matt Carney, Ronald (Emily) Sobinovsky Jr., Ryan Sobinovsky, Riley Sobinovsky, Max Williams, and Michael Williams. She is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Skylar Sobinovsky; a sister, Margie Hicks; sister-in-law Helen “Moe” Jakubovic; and brother Roger Dempsey; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

Nancy’s home was the meeting place for friends and family. Her Christmas parties were legendary. She was an excellent cook, and for a lady of Irish descent, her spaghetti and meatballs and chicken parmesan, were amazing.

She was a big sports fan and was known to make necklaces with little dog biscuits on them to support her much beloved Cleveland Browns. She was a proud graduate of Ursuline High school and would make her children stand on the corner of their childhood home on Schenley Ave. and hold “Go Ursuline, Beat Mooney” signs on the day of the big game.

She retired after 42 years with Northside Hospital, in Youngstown, Ohio where she worked as a nuclear medicine technologist. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion 732 and the Eagles 213, on South Avenue.

She was a proud “nana” to seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She will be remembered by the girls in her “club.” They played 500 once a month for over 35 years.


Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Nov. 25, from 11 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St. in Poland.

A funeral service and celebration of life will follow on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Poland Riverside Cemetery, Poland, Ohio.

George D. Bonamase

CANFIELD,OH – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Youngstown, Ohio at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, for George D. Bonamase, 78, formerly of Mineral Ridge, OH who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 at Vista Care Center.

George was born April 12, 1939, in Youngstown, the son of Dominic P. and Pearl (Petroff, Bonamase, Martinelli.

He was a 1957 graduate of East High School and he received his Master’s degree in Music Education from Youngstown State University, Dana School of Music.

George taught 28 years at the Liberty Locals Schools and eight years at other districts until his retirement in 1997. He taught clarinet and saxophone privately for several years. George played in several bands.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown,
George was also a member of NEA-OEA, a lifetime member of the Musicians Union, and a member of STRS.

George and his friends were written up in Readers Digest the article “A Trip Of A Lifetime.” The Rev. Father Witt was a good friend and took these eastside boys out west.

George leaves his wife, the former Jane F. Sell, whom he married at St. Dominic’s Church on June 17, 1967; two children, Gregory (Rae Marie) Bonamase of Mineral Ridge and Bridget (Richard) Montesi of Grove City, Ohio; as well as five loving grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, and Mary Bonamase, Gavin George Majecic and Derek Montesi. George also leaves his sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Raymond) Miles of Howland,Ohio and Christina (late Charles Sell Jr.) of Indiana.

Besides his parents, George was preceded in death by a son, George Jr., who passed away in 1987.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.

NORTH LIMA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Philip Rogers at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, at St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Drive in Boardman, Ohio for Nadine A. Biro, 86, who passed away peacefully at Assumption Village in North Lima, Ohio on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2017.

Nadine was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Marblehead, Ohio a daughter of Joseph and Helen Chura Smorgala.

She married George Biro on Aug. 1, 1953, in Marblehead and moved to the Youngstown area a year later.
Nadine was a member of St. Charles Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, George Biro, with whom she recently celebrated 64 years of marriage; a son Patrick (Norma) Biro of San Diego; three daughters, Carol (Paul) Schmidt of Canfield, Christine (Brad) Davis of Stow and Cathy (Dan) Cunningham of Elyria, Ohio; a sister Joan (Paul) Lukac of Port Clinton, OH; 10 grandchildren, Brian (Kate), Louie (Melissa), Matt (Tina), Kerri, Brett (Bri), Kelli (Mike), Nicole, Tohnia, Jessica, and Francisco; and four great-grandchildren, with two on the way.

Besides her parents, Nadine was preceded in death by a brother ,Joseph Smorgala.

Friends may call on Monday, Nov. 27, at St. Charles Church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Mariann Bojadich

CAMPBELL – Mariann Bojadich, 66, died on Nov. 18, 2017, at her home.

Mariann was born on March 10, 1951, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) daughter of the late Braune and Mary (Pristav) Bojadich.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching movies and loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandson, Dontae.

Mariann is survived by her son, Donald (Tia) Knight of Massillon, OH; her sister, Darlene (David) Youngman of Norwalk, OH; and her grandson, Dontae Knight.

In addition to her parents, Mariann was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Bojadich.

The family will follow through with Mariann’s wish to have a Celebration of Life service at a later date.

Virginia Ginnetti Carbone

POLAND, Ohio – Virginia Carbone, 90, who passed away Thursday, Nov 23, 2017 at The Woodlands Assisted Living facility, with her daughters at her side.

Virginia was born June 14, 1927, in Belltown, PA., the daughter of Fillipo and Nicolette Centofanti Ginnetti, and was a lifelong resident of Struthers, Ohio (Mahoning County) recently moving to The Woodlands in Poland.

She married the love of her life, Eugene, on Aug. 23, 1947, with whom she enjoyed 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2012.

She loved listening to ethnic music, her favorites were the Italian tunes. Virginia was an excellent cook. Her family especially enjoyed her wedding soup, ravioli, and graham cracker cake.

With her husband she enjoyed the movies behind The Village Pantry at the Yellow Creek Theatre, walks through Struthers, and attending events for the grandchildren.
She leaves behind two daughters, Gina Carbone of New Middletown,OH and Joanne (Ron) Eiselstein, of Youngstown, Ohio; a brother William Ginnetti of Poland; five grandchildren, Daniel (Sherry) Cunningham and Cody Cunningham of McDonald, Chris Prater of New Middletown, Nick (Melinda) Prater of Dublin, Ireland, Jessica (Will) Franklin of Columbiana, OH; six great-grandchildren, Camden, Sydney, Lillian and Amalia Prater, Wesley and Dane Franklin.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; daughter Angela Cunningham; twin infant sons, Eugene and Daniel; sisters Florence Argiro and Jenny Ginnetti; and four brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Dante, and Herman Ginnetti.

There will be services held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, and at 10 a.m. at the Christ Our Savior (St. Nicholas) Church in Struthers, OH

Ida Ann Iandimarino Phillips

AUSTINTOWN, OH – Ida Ann Phillips passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, Nov. 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Ida was born on Oct. 25, 1932, in Youngstown, Ohio, (Mahoning County) the daughter of Esterina Monaco Iandimarino and Mario Iandimarino.

During her life, Ida was blessed to have been loved by two wonderful men. On May 11, 1957, Ida married Dominic Delmonte, who passed away on June 17, 1964.
On Oct. 30, 1965, she married Charles Phillips, and they spent 49 wonderful years together. Charles passed away on May 25, 2014.

In 1950, Ida graduated from The Rayen School, and attended Youngstown College where she studied real estate. Prior to becoming a mom, she worked at the office of Dr. Asher Randal.
Fitch Football Moms Club

After she raised her family, Ida kept very busy working at a variety of different jobs, including Vincenzo’s and then later working at her brother, John Iandimarino’s restaurant, Monaco’s.

With immense pride in her Italian heritage, Ida was a member of the Italian Ladies Bungarese Club, where she had served as president.
Ida was a proud resident of Brier Hill, growing up on Alameda, just three blocks from St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong parishioner.

Ida, alongside her husband, Charles, volunteered faithfully and tirelessly for many years making Brier Hill pizzas every Friday, as well as making Easter bread during Lent and Holy Week.
Ida also was a past president of St. Anthony’s Altar and Rosary Society, was a member of the church choir.
She especially enjoyed attending the Brier Hill Festival every summer to listen to the Italian music and visit with longtime friends.

Ida leaves to cherish her memory, children Denise (Bob) Cogar, Teresa Drummond, Charles (Claudia) Phillips, David (Liz) Phillips, and Linda (Brian) Cristall; and, grandchildren Dominic Drummond and Dyana (Joe) Polis (along with their father, Al); Alex, Amy, Jensen and Nicolas Phillips; and Michael, Mark and Jack Phillips; her sister, Carmella Lemme; her sisters-in-law, Joanie Iandimarino and Margaret “Peggy” Carson; and her nieces, nephews and friends.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her husband, Dominic Delmonte; her brother, John Iandimarino; her sister-in-law, Joann Csepeggi; and her brothers-in-law, Ed Lemme, Ed Csepeggi and Gene Carson.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Ida at St. Anthony of Padua Church, celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Michael Cariglio, J.C.L., located at 1125 Turin Ave. in Youngstown, on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at 10 a.m.

Friends may call on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. and before Mass on Tuesday, from 9 to 9:45 a.m., at the Schiavone Funeral Home, 1842 Belmont Ave. in Youngstown.

BOARDMAN,OH – A memorial Mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church for James Richard “Dick” Popney, 79, who died Oct. 30, 2017 at the Commons at Greenbriar with his wife by his side.

Dick was born Aug. 15, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Leon and Anna (Dunn) Popney.

Dick is survived by his wife, the former Donna Smyczynski, whom he married Oct. 4, 1969, and three nieces, Debbie Ramps, Dody Kessler and Diane Vitullo.

Professional arrangements are being handled by the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland, Ohio Chapel.

Educated in Boston Public Schools, graduate of Howard University & earned a Master's Degree from Emerson College. Employed with airport security, working with Piedmont Airlines & through various mergers retiring from US Airways in 2004.
She was also a Mary Kay Cosmetics Director. Most recently employed with Premier Health System at the Dayton Heart Center.
Leslie was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Survived by her husband of 18 years Darryle O. Irving; a loving daughter by marriage Terronica (Delvin Sr.) Perkins; grandson Delvin Jr.; mother-in-law Shirley Irving; 2 sisters-in-law Antionette Irving & Cheryl Banks; niece Erika & her mother Denyse; other relatives & friends. William Joseph Stolarik

BYESVILLE — William Joseph Stolarik, 79, of Byesville, Ohio passed away Monday (December 18, 2017) surrounded by his family.


He was born Feb. 20, 1938 in Senecaville, Ohio to the late Helen Elizabeth (Valochik) and Joseph James Stolarik.


A hard worker his entire life, his first job as a young boy in the 1940′s was in his parents bait shop in Senecaville, “Minnow Joes.” Later, as a young man he apprenticed under his father as an electrician, helping to wire many homes in Senecaville, and the surrounding area which included the former Holy Trinity School and Convent. William graduated from St. Benedict Catholic School in 1956, and after high school served in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany in the Third Armored Division, and upon returning brought the first VW Beetle to Guernsey County. 'Bill made his career as a maintenance worker and worked in several area plants, including Hamilton Beach (Scovill/ Westinghouse) and later retired from E.G. Smith/Centria in 2003.

For many years he served as the “go-to” handyman to many, especially his children.
He especially enjoyed caring for his two large gardens and canning with his wife. His grandchildren will always have fond memories of summers harvesting with Grandpa. He loved working on and talking about cars, and auto racing.
Another of his favorite activities was feeding birds in the wintertime and building bird houses. He also enjoyed working on the Byesville Scenic Railway with his two sons.

He is preceded in death by wife Marlene Louise (Feyko) Stolarik, whom he married June 23rd, 1962 and who passed away Jan. 23, 2016; infant sister, Margaret Mary Stolarik; and brother-in-law, Robert Eugene Feyko.

He is survived by children Mary Michelene (Eric) Knauf of Hudson, Ohio, William Joseph Jr. (Turessa Williams) of Salesville, OH. and Douglas Scott (Janice) of Mentor, Ohio; grandchildren Anna Marlene Knauf, Joseph William Stolarik, Alison Grace Knauf, and Sophia Grace Stolarik; twin sister, Joan (Joseph) Sikora of Byesville; sisters, Helen (Richard) Chesar of Byesville, Irene (and the late Robert) Feyko, Mary Susan - Susie (Jeffrey) Dragosin of Byesville; brothers John (Ritta) of Loganville, GA, and Stephen (Marguerite) of Byesville; nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Byesville, OH

Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m Saturday at Christ Our Light Parish.
Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Pleasant City, Ohio with military services conducted by the Guernsey County, Ohio Veterans Council.

Marguerite A. Mesre

Marguerite A. Mesre, 86, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
She was born January 28, 1931 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Sam and Mary Nicely Mesre. Marguerite was a ZHS graduate and retired from the State of Ohio.
She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

Surviving are her brother George Mesre; a niece Jodi Witte; a nephew Sam Mesre; two great nieces Anna and Rachel; and a special friend Regina Ritchey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Josphine Mesre and Yvonne Mesre; and three brothers: Moses Mesre, Nick Mesre and Herb Mesre.

Calling hours will be from 11AM to 12PM Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE.
Services will begin at 12PM and burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
